It is the first 100% Lego Mindstorms NXT compatible Wifi device.
Your favorite robot enters in a new dimension and becomes part of the Internet of things!
Drive your creations from a computer or from your smartphone. A few meters away or from across the world, this will become a reality with the WifiBlock.
Connected to one of the four sensors ports of your NXT brick, the WifiBlock receives orders from your robot and relays them over an IP network using its wireless connection. The WifiBlock exchanges data with any device connected to your local network (computer, smartphone, and tablet) or with servers on Internet. Remote control, robot sensors data logging, smart home prototype or even your own NXT based wireless weather station, it’s an exciting new world of applications opening up. Your NXtT robot can send messages over Twitter, warn you when it detects an obstacle of when one of his sensors (touch sensor, RFID,…) is triggered.
The technical specifications of the WifiBlock for Lego Mindstorms NXT are the following:
The WifiBlock can be programmed from NXT-G in its education of consumer versions. It is also possible to program the WifiBlock using RobotC, NXT, Lejos or even an Arduino compatible board.
The robot – WifiBlock communication uses an I2C protocol bus making it compatible with many development boards and various microcontrollers.
