Less than 6 months after\n   <a href=\"\/blog\/en\/baxter-robot-found-its-marks-thanks-to-intera-3-1\/\" title=\"Baxter robot found its marks thanks to Intera 3.1\">\n    the Intera 3.1 release\n   <\/a>\n   ,\n   <a href=\"\/blog\/en\/meet-sawyer-new-collaborative-robot-rethink-robotics\/\" title=\"Meet Sawyer, the new collaborative robot by Rethink Robotics\">\n    Sawyer robot\u2019s manufacturer\n   <\/a>\n   is announcing that Intera v3.2 is available for\n   <a href=\"\/en\/401514-baxter-robot-research-prototype.html\" title=\"The research and education version of the famous robot Baxter\">\n    Baxter robot\n   <\/a>\n   .\n  <\/p>\n  \n  \n  <p>\n   As you know Baxter collaborative robots are available in two versions: Baxter research, a prototype of the collaborative robot for research purposes, available at G\u00e9n\u00e9ration Robots, and Baxter Manufacturing version.\n  <\/p>\n  \n  \n  <p>\n   If you already own the Manufacturing version of Baxter robot or if you\u2019re interested in this version, be aware that this software update will allow you to run Baxter Manufacturing faster and in an efficient manner.\n   <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rethinkrobotics.com\/\" title=\"Baxter and Sawyer robot manufacturer\">\n    Rethink Robotics\n   <\/a>\n   software engineers considered customers\u2019 feedback for this update in order to meet their expectations of what\n   <a href=\"\/blog\/en\/a-look-back-at-our-seminar-on-collaborative-robotics-featuring-rodney-brooks\/\" title=\"A seminar on collaborative robotics featuring Rodney Brooks\">\n    collaborative robotics\n   <\/a>\n   should look like.\n  <\/p>\n  \n  \n  <p>\n   Below you will find the key highlights of this latest release:\n  <\/p>\n  \n  \n  <ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n   \n   <li>\n    Baxter can now follow a trajectory path without carrying out a task with specific start and finish points e.g. a pick and place task. This will be handy for activities not requiring gripping or handling materials\n   <\/li>\n   \n   \n   <li>\n    Arm coordination is now easier with new internal signals enabling Baxter robot to send a signal from one arm to the other\n   <\/li>\n   \n   \n   <li>\n    You can configure signals in a simple way thanks to a revamped user interface\n   <\/li>\n   \n   \n   <li>\n    End effectors configuration has been simplified since Baxter collaborative robot remembers the last configuration. You can then use your 3D printer in order to create \u00ab customised \u00bb grippers. You can even use Baxter cobot without grippers.\n   <\/li>\n   \n  <\/ul>\n  \n  \n  <p>\n   Our robotics engineer Wagdi Benyaala, who recently\n   <a class=\"catalogue\" href=\"\/blog\/en\/generation-robots-help-baxter-robot-detects-users-thanks-to-motorised-kinect-head-mount\/\" title=\"Generation Robots helps Baxter robot to detect users, thanks to motorized Kinect head mount\">\n    collaborated on a head mount featuring a motorised Kinect camera for Baxter robots\n   <\/a>\n   , reviewed Intera 3.2 release and shared his feedback about the latest features:\n  <\/p>\n  \n  \n  <ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n   \n   <li>\n    \u201cCreate tasks without a pick and place\u201d and \u201cMore end effector options\u201d features\n   <\/li>\n   \n  <\/ul>\n  \n  \n  <p>\n   <em>\n    You can carry out a task without teaching \u201cPick &amp; place\u201d to Baxter robots. It is now possible to carry out \u201cholds\u201d \u2013 bringing Baxter to a still motion &#8211; and to ask Baxter to follow trajectory paths. A typical use case would be for example visual inspection activities, not requiring any pick and place tasks.\n   <\/em>\n  <\/p>\n  \n  \n  <ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n   \n   <li>\n    \u201cConfiguring end effectors made easy\u201d\n    <p>\n     <em>\n      Baxter now remembers last Rethink Robotics branded grippers configuration (electric and vacuum grippers)\n     <\/em>\n    <\/p>\n   <\/li>\n   \n   \n   <li>\n    \u201cNo movement at start-up\u201d\n    <p>\n     <em>\n      The first thing you will notice with this feature: When you start Baxter robot, it doesn\u2019t return to its initial position. It helps to prevent collisions.\n     <\/em>\n    <\/p>\n   <\/li>\n   \n   \n   <li>\n    \u201cDefine the number of attempts\u201d\n   <\/li>\n   \n  <\/ul>\n  \n  \n  <p>\n   <em>\n    It is now possible to change directly the number of picks you want Baxter to perform on the robot interface, unlike Intera 3.1 where you could only modify it from the web interface. Baxter robot can put on hold one of its arms, and wait for a signal coming from the other arm that will release it.
