Our

\u201cGR Lab\u201d

<\/strong> robotics engineers recently had a chance to test the
EZGripper
<\/strong> developed by SAKE Robotics. The tests were carried out using the
research and education version
<\/a> of the Rethink Robotics Sawyer robot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n \n \n Result:\n <\/strong>\n <\/span>\n a\n \n universal\n <\/strong>\n (compatible with numerous robotic arms)\n \n and ultra-versatile\n <\/strong>\n gripper capable of grasping both slender and bulky objects, whether heavy or light.\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n The EZGripper by SAKE Robotics: our thoughts\n <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\n EZGripper V2 is\n \n capable of picking up objects of different sizes, whether heavy or soft\n <\/strong>\n . It has a spring-loaded finger system with two phalanges allowing it to adapt to objects of different shapes (round, square, triangular, etc.).\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n The\n \n control scripts provided by SAKE Robotics\n <\/strong>\n make it easy to use this gripper on a robotic arm for pick-and-place tasks.\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n SAKE Robotics has chosen a\n \n Dynamixel MX-64 servo motor\n <\/a>\n to drive the gripper\u2019s movement, allowing users to obtain various information concerning the gripper\u2019s status, including its position (open\/closed) and the applied torque. You can also choose the closure torque, closure angle and closure speed. This allows you to\n \n pick up a wide range of different objects\n <\/strong>\n , including fragile or very heavy objects, with a firm grip (no risk of dropping the object seized).\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Its\n \n universal attachment system\n <\/strong>\n means you can position it very easily on different types of robotic arms.\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n The gripper\u2019s finger grips also\n \n prevent objects from slipping\n <\/strong>\n .\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n
