Knowing the number of turns traveled by your motor is very important to be able to command a robotic arm or compute the position of a mobile robot.

You can mount the GlideWheel encoder for PowerFunction motors for Lego Mindstorms NXT directly on the axis of your PowerFunction motor or on any other rotating axis (after a gear train for example).

Then configure your motor port using the NXT-G bloc provided below. You can then simply use the 'motor' and 'move' blocs to command your PowerFunction motor as you would command the Lego Mindstorms NXT servomotors.
