The GlideWheel angle sensor for Lego Mindstorms NXT/EV3 measures the angular position of an axis in the + hole in the middle of the sensor. The measurement rate is very high (less that 1 millisecond per measurement, when reading a sensor port with the Lego Mindstorms NXT Brick takes 16 milliseconds) and very precise (under 0.5 degrees). The GlideWheel angle sensor for Lego Mindstorms NXT has a very low friction on the measurement axis.

The angle data, directly in degrees, are accessible in an NXT-G program with the block provided by Mindsensors. It allows to read the angle data, the rotating speed and to compare the angle value to a reference value.
