Gadgeteer Rotary H1 Module
Gadgeteer Rotary H1 Module: A rotary encoder and decoder
The Gadgeteer ROTH1-GM-457 Rotary H1 Module includes a decoding chip for decoding all the signals internally. The counter value changes depending on which way the knob is turned: increasing when turned clockwise, decreasing when turned anti-clockwise.
Note:The driver for this module can also be recompiled to operate not only with a Y socket, but also an S (SPI) socket, without needing to change your hardware.
Actual applications for the Gadgeteer Rotary H1 Module
A rotary encoder is above all useful for measuring the speed and direction of mobile robots. You can therefore make real-time speed and trajectory corrections to the associated motor.
