RS-232 Serial/Modbus Module for Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Intel Galileo: compatible with the main microcontrollers found on the market

The RS-232 Serial/Modbus Module is an Arduino module, Raspberry Pi module and an Intel Galileo module that adapts easily to all the main microcontroller boards on the market, provided you have the right base shield:

The RS-232 module can be powered by your computer or by an external source. Because of the limitations imposed by the RS-232 standard, you’ll need to use short cables to connect your various hardware. The RS-232 connection will then allow you to send and receive data using a bipolar signal: logic 1 and logic 0.

Uses for the RS-232 Serial/Modbus Module for Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Intel Galileo

Although the RS-232 standard is generally being replaced by USB communication, your RS-232 Serial/Modbus Module can be used for many purposes. Electronics projects might include for example:

  • GPS receivers
  • Bar code scanners
  • Digital multimeters and other measuring devices
  • Some LCDs and LED displays
  • Satellite telephones, low-speed satellite modems and other satellite-based devices
