This MP3 shield can turn any Arduino board into a fully functional MP3 player. You’ll just need one other thing: a microSD card!
This Arduino MP3 shield easily connects to your Arduino programming board, with no complicated soldering or wiring. It is equipped with the VS1053 circuit, an MP3 audio decoder which can also decode Ogg Vorbis, AAC, WMA and MIDI audio files, and encode IMA ADPCM and Ogg Vorbis files.
The integrated circuit communicates via the SPI bus, then sends the decoded audio out to both a 3.5 mm jack and a speaker output on the shield.
To make the most of the DEV-12660 shield, you’ll have to get your hands on a microSD card for storing the audio data, and purchase the connectors required to fit your shield into the Arduino board.
You’ll find here all the information you need to get rapidly started with the Arduino compatible MP3 shield from SparkFun. Just look below!
