Pololu Micro Metal Gearmotors

There are 5 types of motor in the Pololu range of micro metal gearmotors: 6V or 12V high-power carbon brush (HPCB) and 6V high power (HP), medium power (MP) and low power (LP) motors with standard metal brushes. Carbon brushes last longer.

These motors are used in particular for the Zumo robots, but they can also be integrated into any other robotics assembly. You can use a mounting kit to do so (not included).

You can choose from reduction ratios ranging between 5:1 and 1000:1, depending on your speed and torque requirements. They share the same external dimensions, so you can switch one model for another if necessary without having to alter the structure. All except for the motors with a 1000:1 ratio, which are slightly longer than the others.

The extended motor shaft at the rear (available as an option) allows you to add an encoder for more precise control.

• Cross section: 10 x 12 mm (0.39’’ x 0.47’’)
• Body length: Approx. 16 mm
• Gearbox length: 12.5 mm for the 1000:1 ratio; 9 mm for other ratios
• Shaft diameter: 3 mm (D-shaped)
• Shaft length: 9 mm
• Extended shaft dimensions (optional): 5 mm long, 1 mm in diameter

Note: To preserve the motor and ensure optimum longevity, you must avoid exposing your motor to a voltage or load that exceeds its rated values.
