Continuous-time Hall effect sensor: another simple Grove component for your mobile projects
A Hall effect sensor measures differences in a magnetic field. This small Grove-compatible module switches its output from a low to a high position when a magnetic field perpendicular to the sensor passes through it.
This type of sensor is generally used to equip a platform with brushless motors, or to measure the speed or position of a part, for example a motor shaft. You can also equip some connected devices with a Hall sensor to replace an ordinary electrical contactor.
