With its micro:bit, the BBC Foundation has already inspired thousands of children to try their hand at electronic programming. The micro:bit Wonder Building kit offers ideas for new projects, including 20 machines that you can assemble and program!
This kit, designed around a Micro:bit V1 or V2 board, is above all a fabulous “20-in-1” construction set! Over 400 parts simply waiting to be assembled in multiple configurations to create the objects presented on the kit’s Wiki page.
The inventions proposed as part of this kit are both varied and exciting, with for example a robot arm, a motorised aerial ladder, a road sweeper, a Bigfoot monster and a walking robot. And of course, once they’re built, you must bring them to life!
The 20-in-1 micro:bit Wonder Building Kit comes with various programmable parts that will take you into the world of programming, including a water level sensor, line-follower and sonar:bit, as well as a motor, servo and multi-coloured LEDs.
You can use the micro:bit programming application to determine the behaviour of each object. Simply click and drop or move the coloured command blocks. It’s an amusing and visual programming environment for introducing children and pupils to robotics.
