PFMate Block

This block interfaces with PFMate from mindsensors.com
PFMate communicates with your PF IR receiver, and can control PF motors from NXT.

Display Settings

PFMate Block
  1. The number shows the PF IR Receiver channel on which PFMate will be talking to. You can change this channel in the configuration panel if you need to.
  2. The operation being commanded to motor A (and/or motor B) connected to your PF IR receiver.

Configuring the PFMate Block

  1. The NXT’s port to connect PFMate.
  2. The I2C address of the PFMate.  The factory default address is 0x48. Choose appropriate value if you have specifically changed the address.
  3. In this Pull-down, specify which motors you will operate on, (Motor A, Motor B, or Both).
  4. Specify the channel your PF IR receiver is tuned to.
  5. Specify the mode for Motor A (Run, Float or Brake).
  6. Specify the direction for Motor A (Forward or Reverse).
  7. Specify the mode for Motor B (Run, Float or Brake).
  8. Specify the direction for Motor B (Forward or Reverse).
  9. Specify the Power setting for your motor A (ranging between 1 and 7, you can see the resulting value in field marked 'a'). You can also use the scroll buttons on field 'a' to change this value.
  10. Specify the Power setting for your motor B (ranging between 1 and 7, you can see the resulting value in field marked with 'c').

PFMate Block's Data Hub Plugs

Block Hub
  1. This plug connects the wire for the number of NXT Port to which PFMate is connected.
  2. This plug connects the wire for I2C address of your PFMate.  The default value is 0x48, and if you have not changed the I2C address, you need not specify this value.
  3. The Channel of your PF IR Receiver.
  4. The Motors to Operate on, specify values as:
  5. Mode of Motor A, specify values as:
  6. Direction of Motor A (applicable only in Run Mode)
  7. Power for Motor A, values range between 1 and 7. (applicable only in Run Mode)
  8. Mode of Motor B, specify values as:
  9. Direction of Motor B (applicable only in Run Mode)
  10. Power for Motor B, values range between 1 and 7. (applicable only in Run Mode).
