As shown in the following figure, there is a value to set the bias (or offset) of the sensor. Indeed, the sensor measurement can be influenced by temperature and during its manufacture. It is therefore important to indicate what is the bias that corresponds to position 0, i.e. when the gyroscope is stationary. For this, the offset value must be indicated in the setting screen. The diagram below shows an NXT-G code whose purpose is to automatically calculate the value of the bias :
