What is the mBot Simulator?
As its name suggests, the mBot Simulator is an mBot robot simulator. It allows you to set up, program and operate a digital version of the actual robot. With the mBlock software and this simulator, you can test your programs in the classroom and see if they are effective by using a virtual twin simulating all the actions and reactions of the actual mBot robot.
In addition to being very easy to use, the mBot simulator cannot suffer the kind of technical failures you might encounter with the real robot. Its digital twin needs no recharging, is not affected by changes in its environment, and will never break down, which means you can quietly get on with experimenting and change your program as often as necessary before transferring to the actual robot.
An mBot licence designed for teaching
The innovative software firm Irai has developed this specific software in response to teachers’ needs. You can share the software between several computers; simply duplicate the mBot Simulator installation directory to run it on as many machines as necessary, or distribute it over your network. The mBlock and mBot Simulator windows are arranged on the screen in such a way as to make it easier for students to interact and work together.
In addition to its control and programming modes, the mBot simulator includes a challenge mode for presenting your students with new and exciting exercises. They can learn how to move their virtual robot around in its environment, and how to follow a line drawn on the ground.
