5V infrared distance sensor board: a sensing range of up to 1.5 m!
The sensing range of this Infrared Distance Sensor Board is the longest of all the Polulu distance sensors, covering between 10 and 150 cm. The sensor is integrated into an extremely compact board: barely more than 3 cm long and 1 cm wide!
Its sampling and update rate are also very high, and its distance measurements accurate – the kind of performance that makes it an ideal alternative to a laser range finder.
The sensor is compatible with most microcontrollers and can be connected to an analogue-to-digital converter to interpret the board’s analogue input.
It comes with 2 rows of 4 pins (one with straight pins, one with right-angle pins) that you can solder to your board and use with the appropriate cables or a solderless breadboard. For an even more compact set-up, solder the pins directly onto your distance sensor board.
