French State Education Standard Robotics Kit: teaching through practice

Learning about robotics and programming is even more fascinating when you can easily create your own robots! The parts fit together quickly, with no need for tools. They are designed in a robust plastic, and can be used to build the following robotics platforms:

  • Automated objects: traffic lights, automatic doors
  • Autonomous vehicles: intelligent cars
  • And even light shows!

A complete activity PDF booklet is available for each of the above builds. We gathered all the Speechi guides and manuals and turned them into a useful zip archive! (Manuals 1 to 4)

In addition to the structural parts, the kit includes various electrical and electronic components, including motors, servomotors, LEDs, sensors,... And in particular a Studuino board, which will allow you to benefit from all the richness of the Arduino  environment!

It is possible to 3D-print most of the building parts. The STL files are available for download here.

Program on Arduino or Scratch

You can choose your programming environment depending on the level and age of your pupils:

  • A visual Scratch-based programming editor for building robots in primary schools
  • Scratch software for secondary school robots
  • The Arduino IDE (downloadable free of charge) for expanding the knowledge of older secondary school pupils and designing even smarter robots
