Mecanum wheel from Nexus Robotics Ltd: 12 rollers for full freedom of movement
The Mecanum wheel from Nexus Robotics is comprised of 12 nylon rollers mounted between two aluminium alloy plates so that their axis of rotation is 45° to the axis of the main wheel. They allow for the smoothest travel possible, both forward and backward.
And by spinning pairs of wheels in opposite directions, you can have your robot spin continuously in a circle.
