The Ridgeback robot, developed by the Canadian firm Clearpath, is an omnidirectional indoor robotic platform. This mobile robot will be a great platform for research in robotics. Its Mecanum wheels enable exact position control within 3 degrees of maneuverability. It can carry a heavy payload (100kg!). The Ridgeback is compatible with other robots, such as Rethink Robotics Sawyer and Baxter robots, or with SICK and Hokuyo laser scanners.
