The electric Parallel Gripper Kit for Baxter Research Robot
This gripper, the actual hand of Baxter, consists of a parallel electrical clamp. The gripper kit contains:
- The base connection (the wrist) that connects the arm of Baxter.
- 4 sets of two clips that fit over the base connection.
- 5 fingers of different width, different shape and roughness.
The clips provide various grasp widths in order to adapt to the types of objects that Baxter must handle. Baxter is able to pick up from the outside or inside of an object. The maximum size of the clamp opening is 151 mm for the largest pliers. Various size are available as shown in the following table:

The clips and the fingers can be changed in a minute on the robot Baxter. You can also easily customize your own gripper for Baxter, all the technical documentation is available to adapt an already existing gripper.
