mGrip, the flexible gripper as agile as a human hand
The mGrip is a soft gripper with 2 to 6 fingers connected in parallel, shaped like an accordion for greater flexibility and agility. The Soft Robotics gripper can adapt to any object measuring up to 12 cm in width, without sensors or cameras. Ultra-precise, you can use it to equip industrial machines for pick & place and end-of-line applications, as well as in systems designed for teaching and research.
The other great advantage of the mGrip kit is that it’s incredibly easy to assemble. Each pack comes with everything you need to build and attach the flexible gripper’s various parts in just a few minutes. An air fitting supplies the gripper with air, which you can then connect to the robotic system of your choice.
Using the mGrip kit with the Soft Robotics Control Unit
You will need to connect your adaptive gripper to a controller to be able to program and control it. When paired with the Soft Robotics Control Unit, the mGrip can reach speeds of 3 to 4 cycles per second. This is what makes it so efficient in an industrial environment. The very design of the gripper combined with its high precision allow it to grasp fragile, soft and fine objects without ever damaging them. The kit comes in both a standard version and a food-safe version for use in the food industry.
