D555: 3D vision over Ethernet for industry and robotics
The RealSense™ Depth Camera D555 introduces the Power over Ethernet (PoE) interface to the RealSense range, complementing the USB and GMSL/FAKRA cameras. Powered and connected via a single Ethernet cable, it simplifies integration into existing network architectures and enables long-distance installations, up to 100 meters.
The D555 is the first camera based on the new RealSense Vision SoC V5, a low-power System-on-Chip optimized for computer vision and ultra-low-power AI inference.
The camera is built around a D450 global shutter optical module with extended range, an integrated IMU and an IP65 housing that protects it from dust and water jets. It is driven by SafeDDS, an ISO 26262 certified DDS implementation, interoperable with Fast DDS, which makes it plug-and-play with ROS 2 via its Ethernet interface.
The D555 naturally fits into 3D vision solutions for embedded AI, mobile robotics, logistics and harsh industrial environments.
