ZED Mini Depth Camera
The ZED Mini is a stereoscopic camera intended for augmented reality and mixed-reality applications. In concrete terms, it can superimpose virtual reality objects on reality – and transform your world into an IRL video game!
ZED Mini Camera: a camera that will revolutionise your VR helmet
The ZED Mini is a stereoscopic camera equipped with two lenses for high-resolution image capture. You can use a full range of settings to achieve exactly what you want in terms of contrast, saturation, white balance, and more.
Even better, the ZED Mini camera has been designed to be compatible with your Occulus Rift and HTC Vive virtual reality helmets. The virtual reality generated by the helmet blends with the real world. The ZED Mini then takes care of mixing and synchronising these two layers of reality.
Stereo vision, dynamic space mapping, motion capture
The ZED Mini depth camera combines three technologies to offer the impression of moving as realistically as possible in a world that is half real and half virtual:
- Stereoscopic vision: the ZED Mini camera’s two lenses are spaced 65 mm apart to match the average distance between human pupils. It films the surrounding environment with the highest precision in terms of resolution, colours, intensity, etc.
